An INA 6006ZZ single-row deep groove ball bearing — 30 mm bore, 55 mm outside diameter, 13 mm width — with a pressed steel shield on each face. The 6006 is one of the most widely used medium-small radial sizes: electric motors, gearboxes, fans, pumps and general machinery. It carries radial load with a modest thrust capacity in either direction.

What these specs mean in practice

A steel shield runs with a small clearance at the inner ring land rather than touching it. That keeps coarse debris out and holds the grease charge in place while adding almost no friction, so a shielded bearing keeps nearly the speed capability of an open one. Where the environment is wet or carries fine dust, a contact-sealed 6006-2RS is the better choice, at the cost of running torque. Normal CN clearance suits a light interference fit on the shaft with a moderate temperature rise between the rings.

Fitting notes

Mounting force is applied to the ring being fitted so that no load passes through the balls, and the shields are not a press surface. Grease sits behind the shields, so no charge is needed on installation and a relubrication port in the housing has no path into the bearing.

Interchange guidance

The direct equivalent is a double-shielded 6006 in the 30 x 55 x 13 mm envelope: SKF 6006-2Z, FAG 6006-2Z, NSK 6006ZZ, NTN 6006ZZ, Koyo 6006ZZ, Timken 6006-2Z. Contact-sealed versions such as 6006-2RS and 6006DDU share the envelope but rub on the inner ring and run at lower speed, and an open 6006 has no closure, so those are related versions rather than equivalents.
