Gearboxes and Drive Reduction Components

Right-angle, inline and planetary units for machinery

Gear reduction fails in predictable places: a worn output shaft, a cracked housing, a ratio nobody wrote down. On older equipment a surplus unit is frequently the only practical way to keep the line turning. What lands in this section runs from right-angle worm reducers and inline planetary gearboxes through to shrink discs and hollow-shaft locking hardware that hold them on. Three things govern the search — ratio, mounting configuration, and input and output shaft or flange dimensions — and manufacturer model numbers appear right in the listing titles, so start there. Since drive trains rarely get rebuilt one piece at a time, the couplings listing is worth a look while you are at it. Everything ships free.

Sourcing Help for Discontinued Reducers

Worn nameplate? Measurements get us there

Old reducers lose their tags, and when that happens the useful details are physical: center distance, shaft diameters and lengths, bolt pattern or flange dimensions, and the number of input turns per output revolution, which gets you close to the ratio. Send those along with photos of the housing and any casting marks, and we can cross-reference a replacement or a workable alternative from what is available. Brand counts for less than fit on a reducer, so do not rule out another maker's equivalent when the mounting agrees. Requests go through the part request form, or call 585-295-7880 if talking it through is faster. Thirty-day returns apply if the unit will not drop in.
