Why P4 on a deep groove ball bearing matters:
Precision class does not raise the load rating — a P4 6207 carries exactly the same kilonewtons as a normal-class 6207. What it buys you is runout. In a grinding-wheel head, a printing-press cylinder, an instrument spindle or a testing machine, the bearing’s radial runout is transmitted straight into the workpiece or the measurement. Going from normal class to P4 typically cuts radial runout by a factor of three or more. If your housing and shaft are machined to matching tolerances, that improvement reaches the tool tip. If they are not, you have paid for precision the assembly cannot use — so check your seat tolerances before specifying P4.
The solid-lubricant fill — read this before you buy:
This unit is marked as a solid-lubricant filled build. Solid-lubricant bearings have the free internal space packed with a polymer matrix that holds oil and releases it slowly in service. The consequences are real and worth stating plainly:
No relubrication. There is no grease path and no regreasing interval. The bearing runs for life on its charge.Speed is reduced. The polymer fill adds drag. Expect a materially lower practical speed limit than the open-bearing figures below, which apply to the base 6207.Contamination resistance improves. The fill occupies the volume that dirt and washdown water would otherwise enter, which is why these builds turn up in food processing, textile machinery, conveyor ovens and wet environments.It is not a sealed bearing. Do not read solid-lube fill as an ingress-protection rating.
NTN does not publish a catalogue designation for a solid-lubricant 6207, so we cannot quote a manufacturer part number or a derated speed figure for the filled build. Photos of the bearing and carton are on this listing; if the fill specification is critical to your application, review them and ask us before ordering.
An earlier version of this listing described the bearing as “Open, Without Snap Ring” while the title called out a solid-lubricant fill. Those two statements cannot both be the whole truth. We have kept the solid-lubricant marking, which comes from the part itself, and removed the boilerplate “open” description — a solid-lube bearing is not open in the ordinary sense even though it carries no shields or seals. The absence of a snap ring is correct: there is no NR groove on this part.
Figures below are NTN’s own published data for the base 6207 envelope. They govern load capacity and geometry; the speed figures apply to the standard grease-lubricated open bearing and should be derated for the solid-lubricant build.

Note on the load rating: many distributor mirrors still quote 25.7 kN for the 6207 Cr. That is an older figure. NTN’s current published value is 28.4 kN.
Priced and sold as one bearing. Ten in stock from the same batch, so multi-position and multi-machine orders can be filled consistently — useful on a P4 part, where you generally want the whole set to come from one production run.
The ISO base number 6207 crosses cleanly across every major brand, but the precision class does not carry across automatically — you must specify it. SKF 6207/P4, FAG 6207-P4, NSK 6207P4, Koyo 6207P4, Timken 6207-P4. A plain 6207 from any brand is normal class and is not a substitute here.
This part has been listed with the additional designation MM-207-K. We are keeping it as a cross-reference because it is a real marking, but buyers should know what it is: the MM prefix belongs to the MRC / SKF precision ball-bearing series (MRC was formerly Marlin Rockwell), not to NTN.
