What this part is

A double-row spherical roller bearing on the 22213 envelope — 65 mm bore, 120 mm outside diameter, 31 mm width, with a 1:12 tapered bore. Both rows of barrel rollers run against a single spherical raceway ground into the outer ring, so the inner ring, rollers and cage swivel bodily inside the outer ring. That is what gives the family its two defining properties: extremely high radial and shock load capacity, and the ability to absorb static misalignment and shaft deflection without edge-loading the raceways.

What these specs mean in practice

The tapered bore governs the whole fitting job. This bearing does not press onto a plain cylindrical shaft seat. Either the shaft carries a matching 1:12 taper, or it mounts on an adapter sleeve — H 313 at this size, which seats on a plain 60 mm shaft — secured with a lock nut and lock washer.

On a taper, drive-up distance sets the residual internal clearance. Pushing the inner ring further up the cone expands it and closes clearance, so mounting is a measured operation, not a tighten-to-feel one: track the clearance reduction with a feeler gauge or a dial indicator against the specification. Get it wrong in one direction and the bearing runs slack, letting rollers skid through the unloaded arc; get it wrong in the other and you have preloaded a bearing that will cook itself once it warms up.

A machined-cage version of this bearing would carry an M or MB suffix. This one is the sheet-steel E1 design, which is the standard current offering at this size and gives the highest published load rating in the series — the trade against a brass cage being less tolerance of severe shock and sustained high temperature.

W33 variants of all of the above have an annular lubrication groove and three feed holes in the outer ring; they fit the same seats and carry the same ratings, so they are a straight substitute in either direction unless your housing depends on the groove. Straight-bore 22213 CC/W33 and 22213 E share the outside diameter, width and load ratings but have a cylindrical bore — carried as a dimensional cross-reference only, because the bore form is different and neither will mount in the other’s application.
