A GMN S61912C super-precision angular contact spindle bearing, 60 mm bore x 85 mm outside diameter x 13 mm wide — the 71912 / 7912 thin-section spindle envelope. GMN builds high-speed spindle bearings almost exclusively, and the S-series is its high-speed angular contact range: the number carries a deep-groove-style 61912 base, but the raceway geometry is angular contact, so it takes radial load plus thrust in one direction and the high shoulder must face the thrust.
S – GMN high-speed spindle bearing series.
61912 – the thin-section 19-series envelope, 60 x 85 x 13 mm.
C – contact angle 15°.
TA – fabric-laminate (phenolic) cage.
A7 – precision class ABEC 7.
15° is the high-speed end of the contact-angle range. The shallow angle keeps the ball load path closer to radial, so centrifugal ball loading and heat generation stay low and the bearing tolerates a higher DN value than a 25° or 40° equivalent. What you give up is thrust capacity and axial stiffness — which is exactly the right trade for a grinding spindle or a high-speed milling head, and the wrong one for a thrust-dominant boring position.
A 13 mm width on a 60 mm bore makes this a thin-section bearing, chosen where spindle length is at a premium and several bearings must be stacked in a short nose. ABEC 7 controls bore, outside diameter, width and above all radial and axial runout, so the ring can be fitted in any rotational orientation without hunting a high spot. The fabric-laminate phenolic cage is the standard high-speed choice: light, self-lubricating, quiet, and soft enough that a ball skid polishes the pocket instead of galling it. Keep it below roughly 120 °C sustained and check your lubricant, since some synthetics and solvents attack the resin.

Closure: open, no seals or shields
Sold as one bearing. This is a single, not a factory-matched duplex set, so no set preload is supplied with a partner. Where a spindle drawing calls for a matched pair to a named preload class, order a GMN duplex set rather than pairing two singles.
Orient the high shoulder towards the thrust load. Press or heat onto the shaft against the inner ring only — never hammer an ABEC 7 bearing and never drive force through a phenolic cage. Grease sparingly, roughly a quarter to a third fill, or use the oil-air or oil-mist system the spindle was designed around. A single angular contact locates the shaft one way only and needs an opposing bearing in the arrangement. Note the condition remark on this listing: the original grease has dried, so the bearing should be cleaned and relubricated with the correct spindle grease before it is run.
Direct 60 x 85 x 13 mm super-precision 15° equivalents: NSK 7912CTYNSULP4 and 71912CTYNP4 (NSK C = 15°), SKF 71912 CD/P4A (SKF CD = 15°), FAG B71912-C-T-P4S (FAG C = 15°), NTN 7912CT1P4 (NTN C = 15°), Fafnir/Timken 2MM9112WICR (2MM = 15°). Carried as dimensionally-correct cross-references with the difference named: SKF 71912 ACD/P4A, NSK 7912A5TYNP4 and Fafnir 3MM9112WI are the same envelope at 25° — same bore and housing, more thrust capacity, less speed. Match the contact angle your spindle was designed around before substituting.
