A double-row spherical roller bearing on the 22215 envelope — 75 mm bore, 130 mm outside diameter, 31 mm width. Two rows of barrel rollers run against one spherical raceway ground into the outer ring. Because that raceway is a section of a sphere, the whole inner assembly can tilt inside the outer ring, so the bearing tolerates shaft deflection and housing misalignment while still carrying very high radial load.

What these specs mean in practice

The tapered bore governs how this bearing is fitted and is the single most important thing to check before ordering. It will not press onto a plain cylindrical seat. Either the shaft has a matching 1:12 taper, or you mount the bearing on an adapter sleeve (H315 size for this bore) secured with a lock nut and lock washer. On a taper, drive-up distance sets the residual internal clearance, so mounting is a measured operation rather than a press-and-forget one — measure clearance reduction with a feeler gauge as you tighten.

The D1 groove feeds lubricant through the outer ring directly between the two roller rows, which is how you relubricate the bearing in service without pulling the housing apart. It needs a housing with a lube port that lines up on the groove; in a plain-bore housing the groove is simply inert.
