Two-bolt pillow block, low base. Base-to-bore centre height is 1.56 in. The low-backing casting puts the shaft centreline closer to the mounting surface than a standard P2B of the same bore, which is what makes it a distinct catalogue number rather than a substitution.
The eccentric collar locks by driving the offset collar face against the offset counterbore in the extended inner ring, then setting a screw onto the shaft. It grips harder in the direction of rotation than a plain setscrew and needs no keyway or shoulder, so commercial cold-drawn shafting is adequate. Against a Grip-Tight or adapter-sleeve unit it gives up concentricity, which places these units in conveyor, fan and general line-shaft duty.
The insert here runs balls, so load is carried at points rather than along lines: high speed capability and low friction, with radial capacity below a spherical-roller insert of the same envelope such as a Dodge S-2000.

The block seats on a flat rigid face, shimmed where the surface is uneven. Bolts stay slack until the shaft is through both blocks so the sphered insert seat can find its own alignment, then the collar is driven in the direction of shaft rotation and its setscrew tightened.
The standard-height equivalent is the Dodge P2B-SXR-102, and the same unit with a grease fitting is the P2B-SXRB-102-FF.
