A double-row spherical roller bearing carries very high radial load, takes thrust in both directions, and accommodates shaft misalignment relative to the housing. Basic Dynamic Load Rating: 1,140 kN. Basic Static Load Rating: 1,320 kN. Limiting Speed: 1,200 rpm on grease, 1,500 rpm in an oil bath. Mass: 23.1 kg. A machined brass cage handles higher temperature and shock loading than a pressed steel cage. C3 clearance gives more room for thermal growth than a normal-clearance bearing, which suits a hot running seat.
The S11 suffix raises the permissible operating temperature to 200°C by dimensionally stabilising the rings and rollers, so raceway geometry holds at temperatures where a standard bearing would grow. This is what makes the bearing suitable for kiln, fan, dryer and furnace-adjacent duty.
The bore is straight and mounts directly on the shaft seat, with no adapter sleeve in the assembly. Maximum permissible misalignment: 0.5°. The outer-ring groove and holes align with a housing lubrication port for relubrication in service.
SKF 22232 CC/C3W33, FAG 22232-E1-M-C3, Timken 22232EMBW33C3 and NTN 22232EMD1C3 cover the same envelope, straight bore, clearance and lubrication feature. A 22232MKE4C3S11 has a 1:12 tapered bore for an adapter sleeve and is a related size.
