Thrust Bearings for Axial Loads

Single and double direction ball designs

Some positions carry almost no radial load and all of their force along the shaft axis: screw jacks, vertical shafts, turntables, gearbox end stops. The two current listings are a straight bore thrust ball bearing at 70 mm ID by 125 mm OD by 55 mm width and a double direction thrust ball bearing at 30x68x44 mm, both open. Direction is the spec people get wrong, because a single direction bearing installed backwards supports nothing at all. Confirm bore, housing washer OD, overall height, and whether the position needs one direction or two. For thrust combined with real radial load, look at angular contact bearings.
