Where a joint swings slowly back and forth under load rather than rotating, a sliding spherical joint outlasts a rolling element in the same space. The two listed are a FAG GE-series inch unit and a spherical plain thrust bearing at 20 mm ID by 55 mm OD by 20 mm width, open construction. Sizing runs on bore, outer diameter, width, and whether load passes radially or axially through the sphere; also note whether the design needs relubrication holes or a sealed build for dirty service.
