The “EJ” coil is the whole point of this part:
This is not a conventional 24 V coil. The E designates an electronic coil with an electronic interface, which means it can be switched directly by a low-current control signal — a PLC transistor output, for example — rather than needing an interposing relay to carry coil inrush. Rockwell’s published interface figures are a nominal 24 V DC at 15 mA, with pickup guaranteed between 13.0 and 30.2 V DC and dropout between −3.0 and +5.0 V DC.
Three practical consequences. First, 15 mA is well inside the rating of an ordinary PLC output card, so you save the interposing relay, its base, its wiring and a failure point. Second, the wide 13.0–30.2 V pickup band tolerates long control runs and the voltage drop that goes with them. Third, electronic coils ship with surge suppression already built into the supply module, so you do not need to add a diode or RC snubber across the coil. The replacement coil part number is TGE855.
AC-3 versus AC-1: read the right number
The 95 A in the catalogue number is the AC-3 rating — motor duty, where the contactor makes into locked-rotor current and breaks running current. The AC-1 rating for resistive and non-inductive loads is much higher at 160 A. Sizing a heater bank or a resistive load off the 95 A figure needlessly oversizes the contactor; sizing a motor off the 160 A figure will destroy it. Published motor ratings: 30 kW at 230 V and about 50 kW at 400 V (50 Hz, AC-3); 25 hp at 200 V, 30 hp at 230 V, 60 hp at 460 V and 75 hp at 575 V (60 Hz).
Dimensions 120 mm wide x 170 mm high x 156 mm deep. Mounting holes ø5.2 mm on 145 x 100 mm centres. Panel mount or 35 mm DIN rail. Weight 3.8 kg (8.38 lb) — the electronic-coil version is heavier than the 3.3 kg conventional-coil equivalent, so use the higher figure for enclosure and shipping calculations.
Note that the E-coil version uses M8 power terminals where the conventional 100-D95 uses M6. If you are dropping this into an existing panel wired for a standard 100-D95, your existing lugs may not suit. Matching Rockwell accessories are the 100-DLE110 lugs, 100-DTB180 terminal block and 100-DTS180 terminal shield, all specified for the 100-D95E.
Power dissipation is 10.8 W at full AC-3 current on 400 V — worth counting into the enclosure heat load when several sit side by side. Rated life is 10 million mechanical operations and 1 million electrical operations at AC-3, 400 V.

Lifecycle: obsolete, and there is no drop-in successor
The 95 A frame has been withdrawn. Rockwell’s current Bulletin 100-D selection tables begin at 100-D115, and no product page remains for this catalogue number. Rockwell publishes no migration part for the 100-D95. Stepping up to a 100-D115 gets you a working contactor but a physically larger one with different mounting centres and different terminal hardware — which is exactly why an exact-frame new-old-stock unit is worth having for an existing panel where the backplate and busbars are already drilled.
Supplied in the original Allen-Bradley Bulletin 100 carton marked 100-D95EJ11, Series B. The photographs confirm the three main poles, the “100-D95” front label, and the separate electronic coil / interface module carrying “EI” markings underneath the main body. Also included: the Allen-Bradley instruction sheet and two sealed bags of hardware — mounting and terminal fasteners plus a small orange component. The carton carries handwritten stores markings from a previous inventory system.
