An NTN NUKRT52 stud type track roller, also called a cam follower: a thick-walled outer ring running on a full complement of cylindrical rollers around an integral threaded stud. Outer ring diameter is 52 mm and the stud thread is M20 x 1.5. The unit bolts through a bracket or plate and the outer ring runs directly against a cam profile, a rail or a plate edge, so it is a bearing and a mounting spindle in one piece.
NUKR is the stud type track roller with a full complement roller set. The NU root is the significant part: there is no cage, and the roller pockets are filled to capacity. 52 is the outer ring diameter in millimetres, which is how the track roller families are sized rather than by bore code. The stud carries an M20 x 1.5 thread for the mounting nut.
A full complement roller set fits the maximum number of rollers into the available annulus, so radial capacity is substantially higher than a caged track roller of the same outside diameter. The cost is speed: with no cage to space them, adjacent rollers rub against each other, so friction and heat rise with surface velocity and the limiting speed is lower. That makes the full complement type the right choice for heavily loaded, slow to moderate speed cam and track duty, and the wrong one for a high-speed idler.
The thick outer ring is what separates a track roller from an ordinary bearing. It is sized to take the direct rolling contact and the bending it produces without deflecting onto the rollers, which is why a deep groove ball bearing cannot simply be substituted into a cam position.
1 Pc. Complete stud type track roller: outer ring, full complement roller set and integral threaded stud. No mounting nut, no washer and no eccentric collar.
The stud passes through a drilled bracket and is clamped by a nut on the back face, so the bracket has to be thick and rigid enough to hold the stud square — a track roller loads its mounting in bending, not just shear. Lubrication reaches the rollers through the feed hole in the stud, so the grease path is planned before the bracket is closed in. The outer ring is loaded against the track through its centre plane wherever the geometry allows, since off-centre contact adds moment load the rollers do not carry well.
The interchange is another maker’s full complement stud type track roller of 52 mm outer ring diameter on an M20 x 1.5 stud: INA and Schaeffler NUKR52, IKO CR or CF equivalents at the same outside diameter and stud thread, or McGill CF-2 series at matching dimensions. The caged KR52 is a related size, not a substitution, because it has a lower radial rating and a higher speed limit. NUKRE52 with an eccentric collar is a related size as well, since the collar changes how the roller is set against the track.
