Construction

Fitting notes

The two housing washers seat against faces square to the shaft axis, and the central shaft washer is clamped to the shaft so it turns with it. Alignment matters more than on a radial bearing, since any out-of-square in a housing face loads one arc of the ball path in preference to the rest.

Interchange guidance

The 54200 series is the double-direction form. Single-direction thrust ball bearings in the 51000 series and the 52000 double-direction series are related sizes with different washer arrangements, not interchanges. Double-direction angular contact thrust bearings in the 234400 series carry combined load and are a different product type.
