Decoding the designation

592 is an inch-series number in the ANSI/ABMA interchange scheme rather than a metric ISO designation, so the digits define the cup geometry independently of brand. Within the 59x block the even number is the cup and the odd numbers are the cones, which is why a 592 cup pairs with a 593 or 590A cone. A cup carries no clearance or cage suffix; both belong to the cone or to the mounted setting.

What these specs mean in practice

Fitting notes

The cup presses into the housing bore and seats against the shoulder, driven on the backface with a flat tool contacting the whole ring so the raceway keeps its roundness. Endplay or preload is set once the cone is in place. Oil or grease lubrication both suit the geometry.
