SKF single-row inch tapered roller bearing supplied as a matched cone and cup set. The cone is the 3795 inner ring with its tapered roller and cage assembly; the cup is the 3730 outer race. Bore 2.0000 in (50.800 mm), cup outside diameter 3.9375 in (100.013 mm). Carburized bearing steel races, pressed steel cage, open on both faces.

Decoding the designation

In the inch tapered roller scheme the cone and the cup carry separate numbers and are quoted as a pair. 3795 fixes the bore, roller path and rib geometry of the inner half; 3730 fixes the outer race bore angle and outside diameter. The carton markings BK-3795 and K-3730 are SKF prefix forms of the same two numbers.

What these specs mean in practice

A single-row taper carries radial load and thrust in one direction at once, the ratio set by the raceway angle. The 3700 series is a wide, heavy inch series, so at a 2 in bore it offers a high radial capacity for its shaft size and is used on gearbox and pinion shafts, conveyor heads and machine-tool spindles running at moderate speed.

Fitting notes

The cone seats as a press fit on the shaft, the cup as an interference or line fit in the housing bore. Endplay or preload is set by axial adjustment after both halves are seated and the roller path has bedded against the cup raceway. Oil bath, circulating oil and grease lubrication all apply.

Interchange guidance

Timken, NTN, Koyo and Bower all carry 3795 and 3730 under the same numbers, and the halves interchange across brands. A 3775 cone runs in the same 3730 cup at a smaller bore, making it a related size rather than a substitution for the 3795.
