What this part is

A double-row spherical roller bearing on the 22213 envelope — 65 mm bore, 120 mm outside diameter, 31 mm width. Two rows of barrel rollers run on a common spherical raceway machined into the outer ring, so the inner ring, rollers and cage assembly can swivel inside the outer ring. That gives the bearing very high radial capacity plus the ability to absorb static misalignment and shaft deflection without edge-loading the raceways.

Decoding the designation

222 – ISO dimension series for spherical roller bearings, the narrower of the two common 13-bore series.
13 – bore reference number; 13 × 5 = 65 mm bore.
CC – single-piece window-type steel cage with an inner-ring centre guide rib, the standard current design for this size.
K – 1:12 tapered bore.
C40 – radial internal clearance greater than the C3 range.
W33 – annular lubrication groove around the outer ring with three radial holes into the raceway.

What these specs mean in practice

The tapered bore is the decision point. A K bearing does not slide onto a plain cylindrical shaft seat — it either mounts on a matching 1:12 tapered shaft seat, or on a cylindrical shaft via an adapter sleeve with a lock nut and lock washer. Drive-up on the taper is also how you set the running clearance, which is why the wider C40 clearance is specified: you consume part of it during mounting, and what is left is your operating clearance. Fit it like a straight-bore bearing and you will either leave it loose or crush the clearance out of it.

The W33 groove and holes let grease or oil enter through the outer ring directly at the raceway, midway between the two roller rows, so lubricant reaches both rows evenly. That only works if the housing has a matching feed port aligned to the groove; in a housing without one the groove is harmless but does nothing.

Dimensionally interchangeable with other makers’ 22213 K W33 bearings of the same clearance class: FAG 22213-E1-K, NSK 22213EAKE4, NTN 22213BKD1, Koyo 22213RHRKW33, Torrington and Timken 22213KEJW33. Straight-bore 22213 CC W33 shares the same outside diameter and width but will not mount on a taper — carried here as a dimensional cross-reference only, the bore form is different. Cage-code variants such as E and EK carry slightly different load ratings than CC in the same envelope.
