A barrel roller runs one row of convex rollers against a concave outer raceway, which makes the bearing self-aligning and tolerant of shaft deflection and housing misalignment. That single-row geometry carries radial load only and has no axial capacity, so the axial location of the shaft is set elsewhere in the arrangement. A double-row spherical roller in a comparable envelope does take thrust in both directions, which is the practical difference between the two types.
A machined brass cage tolerates higher temperature and more shock and vibration than a pressed steel cage, and suits oil lubrication and heavier loads. C3 clearance leaves extra room for the thermal growth of an interference-fitted inner ring, so it is the usual choice where the inner ring runs hot relative to the housing.

The cylindrical bore mounts directly on a ground shaft seat to an interference fit, and the outer ring seats in a housing bore sized to allow the self-aligning function to work. Because the bearing carries no thrust, the shaft is located axially by another bearing in the arrangement.
The equivalent in other schemes is the SKF 20315 M and the NSK 20315M, both single-row barrel rollers in the same envelope. The 20315-K variant has a 1:12 tapered bore and mounts on an adapter sleeve, and the 22315 is a double-row spherical roller with axial capacity — those are related sizes rather than interchanges.
