What this part is

A complete housed radial insert ball bearing unit in the two-bolt plummer block style, from Schaeffler’s INA mounted unit range. Bore is 35 mm. The cast iron long-base housing is the ASE07, fitted with a GE35-KRR-B radial insert ball bearing locked by an eccentric collar, and a KASK07 protecting cap. Mounting is through two elongated slots.

Decoding the designation

Housing style and mounting geometry

What these specs mean in practice

The 47.6 mm base-to-shaft-axis height and the 126 mm bolt centres are the two figures that define the fit against an existing frame. The elongated slots give lateral adjustment at installation. The eccentric collar has an off-centre bore that wedges against the extended inner ring when rotated in the direction of shaft rotation, so drive torque tightens the grip; that holds better on soft or lightly worn shafting than a grub screw biting into the surface, and favours unidirectional drives. The RASEY variant of the same housing substitutes grub screws for the collar and is therefore a different locking style in the same envelope. The insert accommodates initial mounting misalignment; the unit is axially fixed rather than expansion.

Fitting notes

The base seats on a flat rigid face, shimmed where uneven. The 14 mm slots allow lateral adjustment to the shaft centre before the base bolts are drawn down at 126 mm centres; the insert then settles into its aligned seat, and the collar is rotated in the direction of shaft rotation and its setscrew tightened. Shaft seat is a commercial ground 35 mm diameter. Relubrication is through the M6 thread.

Interchange guidance

The current-generation Schaeffler designations for the same product are RASE35-XL-N and RASE35-XL-N-I; the Corrotect anti-corrosion variant is RASE35-XL-N-FA125. PTI publishes SW 35 U alongside RASE35 as the same unit in its own scheme, and maps the bearing envelope to the UC 207 size class. The grub-screw RASEY35 and the low-height RAK35 and RAKY35 share the 35 mm bore with a different locking method or a different housing height, so they are related sizes rather than interchanges. The TASE35 substitutes a KTT seal insert.
