What this part is

This is a GE Fanuc Series One Link I/O module, the remote-station half of a Series One remote I/O link. It sits in a rack away from the processor and exchanges I/O data with the CPU over a serial link, so field devices at the far end of a machine or a plant are wired locally instead of being cabled back to the main panel.

The module works only as a pair. The Link I/O module pairs with a Link Local module at the CPU end to make a working remote I/O link. A Link I/O module on its own is a spare for one half of an existing installation, not a remote I/O system.

IC610 is the GE Fanuc Series One family prefix.
