| Manufacturer Status | SNR is a French manufacturer, now trading as NTN-SNR. The 7026C envelope remains in production. |
| Arrangement Configuration | Not confirmed — matching arrangement not asserted, pending resolution of the VJ04M21 variant code |
| Precision Class | P4 (ISO class 4 / ABEC 7) |
| Additional Attributes | The preload grade and matching arrangement are NOT confirmed on this item, because the SNR variant code VJ04M21 could not be resolved against a manufacturer source — we have asserted neither. Contact us and we will read the ring etching before you order. At 130 mm bore a 15° angle is usually a deliberate choice: large spindles are surface-speed limited at the ball track, so the shallow angle is often the only way to reach the required rpm, at the cost of axial stiffness. At this diameter a thermal fit is generally preferable to a press fit on the inner ring. |

An SNR super-precision angular contact ball bearing in the 7026 envelope — 130 mm bore, 200 mm outside diameter, 33 mm width. Open type, 15° contact angle, phenolic cage, precision class P4. SNR is the French bearing manufacturer now trading as NTN-SNR.
7026 — ISO 70 dimension series, bore code 26, giving a 130 mm bore. The 130 x 200 x 33 mm envelope agrees with the recorded dimensions, so this part’s identity is internally consistent.
C — a 15° contact angle.
T — phenolic (fabric-laminate) cage, from the recorded 7026-C-T-P4 cross-reference.
P4 — ISO precision class 4, equivalent to ABEC 7.
VJ04M21 — an SNR internal variant and preload code. We could not confirm its meaning against an SNR or NTN-SNR source, so we have not translated it into specifications — which means in particular that we are making no preload claim.
15° is the high-speed end of the spindle-bearing range. The shallow contact angle keeps the load path close to the radial plane, reducing ball centrifugal and gyroscopic effects, so the bearing runs faster and generates less heat than a 25° equivalent in the same envelope. What you give up is axial stiffness and thrust capacity. On a 130 mm bore that trade is usually deliberate: large-diameter spindles are surface-speed limited at the ball track, so the shallow angle is often the only way to reach the required rpm at all.
The phenolic cage is a real spec that most listings omit. Phenolic is self-lubricating, absorbs oil, and is far kinder to the balls than pressed steel during momentary lubrication starvation, which is why it is standard on high-speed spindle bearings. It also sets the temperature ceiling — phenolic cages are not for hot service.
One bearing. The preload grade and matching arrangement are not confirmed, because the VJ04M21 code is undecoded. That matters: if this bearing is part of a preload-matched set, it is intended to be used with a partner of the same designation, and the preload only exists once two are clamped together. If you need a matched pair, or need to know the preload grade before committing, contact us and we will read the ring etching and the carton first.
The original description said only that the bearing was “known for its durability and precision performance” and asserted French manufacture as a specification. SNR is indeed a French manufacturer, but with no origin marking recorded against this item we have confined the reference to the title rather than publishing it as a verified spec, and replaced the marketing language with the actual suffix decode.
Load ratings and limiting speeds are deliberately blank. NTN-SNR publishes figures per exact designation, and with the VJ04M21 variant unresolved we cannot say which set applies. We have specifically not substituted figures for a commercial 7026 or for another maker’s 7026C — different class, different internal geometry. Contact NTN-SNR with the full designation if a certified rating is required.
Observe the thrust-direction marking on the outer ring — an angular contact bearing fitted backwards loads the unsupported shoulder and fails quickly. If the bearing proves to be preload-matched, never shim, lap or regrind the ground faces. Press only on the ring being fitted, never through the balls, and confirm the shaft and housing are ground to a tolerance consistent with P4, or the bearing’s accuracy is wasted. At this diameter a thermal fit is usually preferable to a press fit on the inner ring.
ISO base number 7026. Contact-angle letters differ by maker: SNR, NTN and Timken read C as 15°; NSK reads C as 15° but A5 as 25° and A as 30°; SKF reads AC as 25°; Koyo reads B as 40°. Confirm the scheme before treating a number as equivalent. A commercial-grade 7026 shares the envelope but is several tolerance classes coarser and is not a like-for-like substitute for a P4 spindle bearing.
