A machined brass prong cage runs cooler and tolerates higher speed, shock and marginal lubrication than a pressed steel cage, which is why it is specified where the bearing sees vibration or repeated start-stop duty. In the R design, asymmetrical rollers running against a central inner-ring rib give the highest speed capability in the Koyo spherical range; the guide-ring RH design uses that axial space for longer rollers and higher load capacity in the same envelope. C4 extra clearance accommodates a heavy interference fit, a large inner-to-outer ring temperature difference or thermal growth in the housing, all of which consume clearance at operating temperature. The axial load factors e 0.22, Y1 3.07, Y2 4.57 and Y0 3.00 are the figures used to resolve a combined load into an equivalent dynamic or static load. The bearing runs on grease or on oil, and Koyo publishes a limiting speed for each: 3,300 rpm on grease, 4,400 rpm on oil.
