What this part is

A FAG 21307 double–row spherical roller bearing, 35 mm bore x 80 mm outside diameter x 21 mm wide, straight cylindrical bore, with a glass–fibre reinforced polyamide cage. Two rows of barrel rollers run on one concave outer raceway, so the inner ring, rollers and cage swivel as an assembly inside the outer ring. That gives heavy radial capacity, axial capacity in both directions, and genuine tolerance of shaft deflection and housing misalignment. Sold as 1 Pc.

Decoding the designation

213 — ISO dimension series: a large outside diameter on a narrow width, for housings that cannot take the width of a 222–series bearing.
07 — bore size code, 35 mm bore.
E — reinforced high–capacity internal design: larger rollers on a flangeless inner ring.
TVPB — solid cage in glass–fibre reinforced polyamide, guided on the inner ring.
No clearance suffix, so normal radial internal clearance rather than C3 or C4.

What these specs mean in practice

The polyamide cage is the spec that decides whether this bearing fits your duty. It is light, quiet, damps vibration better than pressed steel and tolerates brief lubrication starvation — but glass–fibre reinforced polyamide is rated for roughly 120 °C continuous. Above that you want a machined brass cage instead, which is the M, MA or MB build of the same bearing. Cool to warm positions: the polyamide cage is the better bearing. Hot or heavily shock–loaded: it is the wrong one.

The 213 series exists for packaging. You need spherical roller capacity and self–alignment, but the housing width is fixed. So the capacity comes from outside diameter — 80 mm across a 35 mm bore in 21 mm of width. Less width means less area to spread load across, so full–width support in the housing bore matters more than it would on a wide bearing.

Normal clearance suits a position running near ambient on standard fits. If the machine originally carried C3 or C4, do not substitute normal clearance: the inner ring grows in service and will take the clearance up until the rollers are preloaded.

Quantity and configuration

One bearing per order — 1 Pc. A complete non–separable bearing ships: outer ring, both roller rows, cage and inner ring. No adapter sleeve, lock nut or housing is included, and a cylindrical–bore bearing needs none of them. This designation does not carry the S or W33 lubrication feature, so the outer ring has no lube groove or feed holes.

Fitting notes

Press only on the ring taking the interference fit, and never through the rollers or the cage — a polyamide cage will not survive being hammered. If you heat the inner ring to mount it, hold the bearing below about 120 °C; an induction heater set for a steel–cage bearing will cook this cage. With only 21 mm of width, make sure the outer ring is supported right across the housing bore or the roller ends will edge–load.

Interchange guidance

The 35 x 80 x 21 spherical roller envelope is standard, so SKF 21307 CC, SNR 21307V, NSK 21307CDE4 and NTN 21307D1 all fit the same seat. Match the clearance class — this one is normal, so a C3 or C4 21307 is a related size on the same envelope rather than a like–for–like replacement — and note the cage, because the brass–cage builds of the same number carry a much higher temperature ceiling. Do not confuse the 21307 with the 22307: same bore and outside diameter, much wider bearing.
