| Additional Attributes | NOT A SAFETY DEVICE — measuring array only; no OSSD outputs, no AOPD Type rating. Discrete output: N/A (emitter). Analog output: N/A (emitter). Max relative humidity 95%. No DeviceNet, no IO-Link, no Modbus RTU, no RS-232, no RS-485 on the emitter — all comms are on the receiver. Approvals: UL US/Canada, CE, UKCA. Includes separate accessory carton and mounting hardware per photographs. Documentation: A-GAGE EZ-ARRAY product manual (Banner 130426). |

The EA5E300Q is the emitter half of a Banner A-GAGE EZ-ARRAY two-piece array: 300 mm array length, 5 mm beam spacing, 60 beams. Banner’s own part number for it is 75424.
Important: this is a MEASURING array, not a safety light curtain
Banner catalogues the EZ-ARRAY under measuring light curtains — it is an inspection and measurement device, not a safety device. It carries no Type 2/Type 4 AOPD rating, no OSSD safety outputs and no PL/SIL rating, and it must not be used to guard a hazard or as part of a machine safety function. If you need machine guarding you need a rated safety light curtain (Banner’s EZ-SCREEN or similar), not this. Earlier copy on this listing described it as a safety light curtain; that was wrong and has been corrected.
The 60 beams are scanned in sequence and the receiver reports which beams are blocked. That gives you object height, edge position, gap detection, hole detection, object counting and profile measurement across the 300 mm field — the jobs a single photoelectric cannot do. Typical uses are web edge-guiding, loop/dancer height, stack and roll diameter measurement, bottle and carton height verification, and detecting missing or protruding parts on a conveyor.
Beam spacing is 5 mm and Banner rates minimum object sensitivity at 5–10 mm — that range exists because a small object’s detectability depends on where it sits between adjacent beams. Optical range is 0.4 to 4 m emitter-to-receiver; note the 0.4 m minimum, which catches people out on tight machine frames. Supply is 12–30 V DC. Housing is aluminium, 379 mm long overall for a 300 mm sensing field, rated −40 °C to +70 °C and 95% RH maximum — an unusually wide temperature band that suits outdoor and freezer-adjacent installations.
An emitter on its own does nothing: it has no discrete and no analog output, because all outputs live on the receiver. To make a working system you need a 300 mm, 5 mm-spacing EZ-ARRAY receiver. Central Surplus also stocks the matching receiver, Banner EA5R300PUXMODQ (part 77538) — same 300 mm array, same 5 mm spacing, with 2 PNP discrete outputs, 2 analog 0–10 V outputs and Modbus RTU over EIA-485. Buy the pair and you have a complete measuring array; buy this alone and you have a spare emitter.
The photographs show the original Banner carton labelled “Part# 75424 / Model EA5E300Q”, plus a separate accessory carton and a bag of black mounting hardware — so mounting brackets are included, which they often are not on surplus arrays. The outer carton is over-labelled from a previous OEM consignee (Paper Converting Machine Company); the Banner product label underneath is the authoritative one.
UL (US/Canada), CE and UKCA marked. Banner lists the item status as RELEASED — still a current catalogue part, so documentation and the matching receiver remain available. Banner publishes the A-GAGE EZ-ARRAY product manual for setup.
Also written EA5E-300Q, EA5E 300Q and by the Banner part number 75424. “A-Gage” and “A-GAGE” are the same product line. Buyers frequently search this as an “EZ Array light curtain” or “measuring light screen”.
