Note the family digits carefully when cross-shopping: 6SC61xx is SIMODRIVE 610 and 6SN11xx is the later SIMODRIVE 611. What these specs mean in practice:
Sizing is the first question. The infeed module has to cover the total simultaneous demand of every axis and spindle module on the shared DC link, not the largest single one. An undersized or marginal supply passes a static test and then faults during coordinated rapid moves or a hard spindle ramp, which is exactly the intermittent behaviour that gets blamed on the axis drives.

Regenerative feedback is the reason the 610 rack usually has no braking resistor: on deceleration the axis modules push energy back into the DC link and this module returns it to the supply. That saves the heat, but it makes the module dependent on a healthy three-phase mains — it needs somewhere to send the energy. A weak, unbalanced or distorted supply, or a lost phase, will show up here as a fault on this module rather than at the axis, which is why the phase-failure monitoring exists.

The 600 V DC link is the number to check against your axis modules. Confirm the input voltage too: 380–480 V three phase means this is a 400 V-class module, and a 200–230 V machine needs different hardware or a transformer.

IP00 is worth taking literally — this is an open chassis with exposed live parts, intended to be mounted inside a closed cabinet. It is not a standalone or panel-front device.

Installation and setup notes:
Install in a cabinet with the airflow the forced-air cooling requires, and inspect the fans — a blocked or failed fan on a module of this age is the commonest cause of an overtemperature fault. Confirm the three-phase supply is inside 380–480 V before energising. Observe DC link polarity and torque the bus connections properly; a loose joint at 600 V DC is a fire risk. Isolate and allow the DC link capacitors to discharge fully before touching bus terminals — they hold a lethal charge after the mains has been removed, and on an IP00 chassis those terminals are exposed. Wire the enable, ready and fault signals into the machine’s safety and sequencing logic as the original design intended rather than strapping them out. Handle as static-sensitive.
