A GE Fanuc IC600BF811A — a high-density discrete input module for the GE Series Six programmable logic controller. It accepts 5 V TTL logic-level signals and 10–50 V DC field signals, opto-isolates them from the PLC backplane and presents them to the CPU as discrete input points for the user ladder program. It is an input module, not an output module and not an analogue or comms card.
IC600 — GE Fanuc Series Six product family (GE Fanuc’s IC-prefix scheme; unrelated to Fanuc’s own A16B / A20B / A03B numbering)BF — Series Six I/O and special-function board group811 — the 5 V TTL / 10–50 V DC high-density input module specificationA — hardware revision letter. Revisions run A through Z on this number and do not change the module’s electrical function
Type: discrete (digital) input module, high densityInput signal levels: 5 V TTL logic and 10–50 V DCIsolation: opto-isolated input circuits, isolated from CPU circuitryPlatform: GE Series Six / Series Six Plus PLC I/O racks and Model 60 CPU racksMounting: plug-in board into the Series Six backplane, which supplies module power and the data pathSupplied form: board complete with face plateEnclosure rating: IP20 — open-board protection only, for installation inside an enclosureRevision on this unit: AOrigin: USA
The dual 5 V TTL and 10–50 V DC capability is what distinguishes this module from the rest of the Series Six input range. If your field devices are 115 V AC, this is the wrong module — the AC input modules are separate numbers (for example the 115 V AC groups in the same BF block). Because the inputs are opto-isolated but the board is IP20, it belongs inside a control cabinet with clean DC field wiring; TTL-level inputs in particular are sensitive to cable run length and noise pickup.
Series Six modules seat into the rack backplane and GE recommends the dedicated insertion and extraction tool to avoid damaging the backplane connector. Confirm the rack slot’s I/O address assignment matches the module’s configured point range before running the ladder.
Module only. No Series Six rack or backplane, no CPU, no rack power supply, no field wiring terminal board or connector kit, no cables, no insertion/extraction tool, no programming software and no documentation.
Sold as one module.
IC600BF811A, IC600BF811 and BF-811A are the same module at revision A; other revision letters (B through Z, and the -RR reman suffix) are the same electrical specification. Neighbouring numbers are genuinely different modules: IC600BF810 is an isolated 115 V AC/DC input, IC600BF814 and BF815 are Type K and Type S thermocouple inputs, and IC600BF904 and BF913 are output modules. Note the general GE Fanuc rule — IC600BF942 is a bipolar analogue output and IC600BF943 the 4–20 mA version — so the BF number, not the BF prefix, defines the function. The matching IC600YB numbers are the equivalent boards in the Series Six Plus board-only form.
