The SCE904-001-01 is a single-axis digital brushless AC servo drive from the Pacific Scientific SCE900 family. A single DSP closes the current, velocity and position loops, and all system and application parameters are set in software rather than by trimpot, so these drives hold their calibration and repeat from unit to unit.
Convection cooling: 10.6 A continuous at 25 °C, 21.2 A peak
Forced-air cooling: 10.6 A continuous at 50 °C, 21.2 A peak
Input: 90–264 VAC, 47–63 Hz
Feedback: resolver
Approvals: UL and CE marks present on the chassis
Chassis: black extruded heatsink for panel mounting
The front panel carries a dedicated RESOLVER connector (J3). SCE900 drives are built around resolver feedback rather than incremental encoder feedback. Resolvers are absolute within one turn, tolerate heat, coolant and vibration that shorten optical encoder life, and establish commutation without a home sequence.
The SCE900 uses Pacific Scientific’s Signature Control, a form of sinusoidal commutation for brushless motors that reduces electro-magnetic ripple torque to about ±2 %. On a low-speed indexing axis or a surface-finishing spindle, torque ripple shows up directly as chatter or witness marks, which makes the ripple figure the specification governing usability at creep speed.
J1 — pluggable AC input terminal block marked PE, L1, L2, L3
J2 — pluggable motor output terminal block marked W, V, U
J3 — resolver feedback
J4 — 25-pin D-sub COMMAND I/O
One drive only. Supplied without motor, resolver cable, motor power cable, serial setup cable, setup software or manual, and without terminal-block mating plugs beyond those fitted. Parameters in a used drive reflect the machine it came out of.
Pacific Scientific’s motion products passed to Danaher Motion and are now catalogued under Kollmorgen. The SCE900 family is long obsolete and is supported through third-party repair houses rather than new supply. Related part numbers in the same family include SCE904-002-01 and SCE904AN-001-01; these are different configurations, not alternates, distinguished by the configuration code. Also written SCE904001 01, SCE 904-001-01, SC904-001-01.
