What this part is

An SNR 21305 double–row spherical roller bearing, 25 mm bore x 62 mm outside diameter x 17 mm wide, with a straight cylindrical bore and C3 clearance. Two rows of barrel rollers run on one concave outer raceway, so the inner ring, rollers and cage swivel as an assembly inside the outer ring. That is what makes it self–aligning: heavy radial capacity plus axial capacity in both directions, while tolerating shaft deflection and housings that are not perfectly in line. Sold as 1 Pc.

Decoding the designation

213 — ISO dimension series: a large outside diameter on a narrow width, so it fits where a 222–series bearing is too wide.
05 — bore size code, 25 mm bore.
V — SNR internal design modification.
J30 — radial internal clearance C3. SNR codes clearance in the J series: J20 is C2, J30 is C3, J40 is C4, J50 is C5. That is why the same bearing is written 21305–V–C3 and 21305VJ30.

Correcting the source data

Earlier copy on this listing gave the width as 19 mm. The 21305 envelope is 25 x 62 x 17 mm, and 17 mm is what ships. If you are building a spacer stack or setting shaft shoulders off the old figure, work to 17 mm.

What these specs mean in practice

The 213 series exists for a specific problem: you need spherical roller capacity and self–alignment, but the housing will not take the width of a 222–series bearing. You get the larger outside diameter instead, so the load capacity comes from diameter rather than width. It is the bearing to use when the axial space is fixed by an existing casting.

C3 clearance is for a position that runs warm, sits on an interference–fit shaft, or both. Thermal growth of the inner ring eats the extra cold clearance, so the bearing arrives at proper running clearance at temperature. Fit C3 where normal clearance was designed in and it runs noisier and lets the shaft float; fit normal clearance where C3 was specified and it can preload itself solid as it warms. Match what came out.

The bore is straight, so it mounts directly on the shaft — no adapter sleeve. That is only the case on the K (1:12) and K30 (1:30) tapered–bore versions.

Press only on the ring taking the interference fit; never drive mounting force through the rollers. The bearing self–aligns, so the housing bore need not be dead square, but the outer ring still wants support across its full 17 mm width or the roller ends will edge–load. On a narrow–section bearing that matters more than usual, because there is less width to spread the load across.
