An SKF 21314 J double-row spherical roller bearing, 70 mm straight bore, 150 mm outside diameter, 35 mm width, open on both faces. Two rows of asymmetric barrel rollers run on a common spherical outer raceway, so the inner ring and roller assembly swivels within the outer ring and takes up shaft and housing misalignment without edge-loading the raceways.
The leading 213 is the ISO dimension series and the trailing 14 is the bore code, giving 70 mm. J is SKF’s pressed-steel cage execution marker. The absence of a K means the bore is straight cylindrical, and the absence of a clearance suffix means normal radial internal clearance, CN.
The 213 series is the low-section spherical roller family: at a 70 mm bore it fits a shallower housing envelope than a 22314 or 23314 and carries less radial load in exchange. Being a double-row spherical roller bearing it takes radial load together with thrust in both axial directions, which separates it from a single-row barrel roller bearing of similar outline. The pressed-steel window cage is the general-purpose execution for normal speeds and temperatures; brass-cage executions of the same size carry different published ratings.
The bore is straight, so the bearing seats directly on a cylindrical shaft journal with a controlled interference fit and no adapter sleeve, locknut or lockwasher. The outer ring is plain: there is no annular lubrication groove and no radial feed holes, so lubricant reaches the rollers from the housing cavity or through the bearing faces.
1 Pc. Bearing only. No housing, no seals or covers, no shaft or housing hardware.
Mounting is by controlled interference on the shaft seat with the outer ring located in the housing bore. Even heating of the inner ring, or press force applied to the inner ring face alone, seats the bearing without transmitting load through the rollers. Radial internal clearance measured after mounting reflects the reduction caused by the shaft interference.
21314 J and 21314J are the same designation. 21314 CKJ and 21314 CKJ/C5 are related sizes rather than interchanges: they have a 1:12 taper bore and need an H314 adapter sleeve, so the shaft seat and the mounting method both differ. 21314 J/C3 is likewise a related size, differing in clearance class. Same-envelope straight-bore equivalents in other schemes are FAG 21314-E1, NSK 21314EAE4 and Torrington 21314, all 70 x 150 x 35 mm, with cage execution and clearance set independently by each maker.
