Bore form and mounting

The 1:12 tapered bore mounts on an H318 adapter sleeve, whose tapered outside diameter is 90 mm and whose shaft seat is 80 mm. The sleeve is secured with a KM18 locknut and an MB18 lockwasher. Driving the inner ring up the taper sets the operating clearance, which is why the bearing is supplied at C3 rather than normal clearance. The tapered bore also allows the bearing to be positioned anywhere along a plain shaft rather than against a machined seat.
