A FAG 22213 S.J.W33 double-row spherical roller bearing measuring 65 mm bore x 120 mm outside diameter x 31 mm wide. Straight (cylindrical) bore, open on both sides, with a lubrication groove and three lubrication holes through the outer ring. Spherical roller bearings carry very high radial load plus axial load in both directions, and the spherical outer raceway lets the inner-ring assembly swivel so the bearing self-aligns to shaft deflection or housing misalignment. Sold as 1 Pc.
222 — double-row spherical roller bearing, ISO dimension series 22.
13 — bore code; 13 x 5 = 65 mm bore.
S — FAG’s suffix for a lubrication groove around the outer ring outside diameter with lubrication holes through to the raceway. It is FAG’s equivalent of the industry W33 code, which is why the title carries both. FAG’s related codes are useful to know when you compare: SY means three lubrication holes but no groove, and H40 means no groove and no holes at all.
W33 — the industry form of the same feature, carried on the carton for cross-reference.
No K in the designation — straight cylindrical bore. No adapter sleeve is involved.
No clearance suffix — normal (CN) radial internal clearance.
The lubrication groove and holes are the reason to pick this variant, and they only pay off if the housing feeds them. Line the housing grease port up with the outer ring groove and fresh grease is pushed straight into the centre of both roller rows — that symmetrical feed is what lengthens relubrication intervals and keeps both rows equally supplied. Feed the same bearing from the side and the groove does nothing. If your housing has no feed hole aimed at the outer ring, an H40 version without the groove and holes is the cheaper correct choice.
Normal clearance is the right default for a bearing sitting in a housing at roughly uniform temperature with a standard shaft fit. Step up to C3 when the shaft fit is heavier than standard, when the inner ring will run appreciably hotter than the outer, or when the housing grows relative to the shaft. Fitting a normal-clearance bearing into a position that wanted C3 is the classic way to end up with a bearing that runs hot with no clearance left.
Self-alignment on a spherical roller bearing is static, not dynamic. It accommodates a shaft that sits at a small angle to its housing or deflects under load; it is not a substitute for aligning the machine, and it does not tolerate continuous oscillating misalignment. Permissible misalignment for this envelope is 1.5°.

One bearing per sale — 1 Pc. Complete non-separable bearing: inner ring, two rows of spherical rollers, cage and outer ring with the lubrication groove and three holes. No housing, no locknut and no sleeve are included, and none are needed for a cylindrical shaft seat. New old stock, supplied in an opened box.
Straight-bore spherical roller bearings mount with an interference fit on the shaft. Heat the bearing or use a hydraulic fit-up tool; drive against the inner ring only, never through the outer ring, because the outer ring can swivel and will cock the rollers. Align the housing grease port with the outer ring groove before final assembly. Keep the axial component well below the radial load: for the 22213 envelope the axial load factor e is 0.24, and above that ratio the unloaded roller row can lose contact and skid. Grease fill is typically 30–50% of free space; overpacking a spherical roller bearing is a common cause of an early temperature rise.
The 65 x 120 x 31 mm 222-series envelope is industry-standard, so a 22213 in another brand’s nomenclature fits the same seat. Match the lubrication feature and the clearance as well as the size. Equivalents for a straight-bore, relubricatable, normal-clearance 22213: FAG’s own current 22213-E1-XL, SKF 22213 CC/W33 or 22213 E/W33, NSK 22213 CDE4, NTN and NTN-SNR 22213 EAW33, Timken 22213 EJW33, Koyo 22213RHW33, RHP 22213 EJW33, SNR 22213 V.B33. A version with a K suffix has a 1:12 tapered bore and needs an H313 adapter sleeve (55 mm shaft) on a cylindrical shaft. A brass-caged version carries M or MB in FAG nomenclature, CA in SKF, CAM in NSK and EM in NTN, and is the choice for shock-loaded positions.
