What this is
A Torrington heavy-duty needle roller bearing in the inch HJ series — 1-1/8 in bore, 1-5/8 in outside diameter, 1-1/4 in wide. It is a machined-ring assembly: a hardened, ground outer ring with an integral rib at each end, a full row of needle rollers in a one-piece steel cage, and no inner ring. The needles run directly on the shaft, so the shaft journal has to be hardened and ground to the bearing’s specification. Where that is not practical, the matching separate inner ring is IR-141820.

The carton is marked HJTR-182620 and the outer ring itself is stamped HJ 182620 — the same bearing under Torrington’s packaged designation and its ring designation. Both numbers are listed here so it comes up either way. Made in U.S.A. The carton also carries Torrington’s “lub before use” instruction: the bearing ships with a rust-preventive coating only, not a running lubricant, so it must be lubricated at installation.
