A Fafnir MUOB1-3/16 insert ball bearing — the rotating cartridge only, for a 1-3/16 inch shaft, supplied with its locking collar. The outer race is spherical (crowned) so it swivels in a matching housing seat, which is what makes the mounted unit it goes into alignable.
Insert and collar. There is no housing, no cap and no bolts. Use it to rebuild an existing mounted unit whose housing is still sound — a pillow block, a two- or four-bolt flange, or a take-up block with a spherical insert seat. If you need the complete assembled unit, that is a different order code.
MUOB is the Fafnir insert series code; 1-3/16 is the shaft diameter in inches. The carton also carries N103KRB, which is the equivalent number under Fafnir’s N-series insert scheme — in that scheme 103 reads as 1 and 3/16 inch, which agrees with the shaft size on this part. Both numbers are kept here as searchable references.

The spherical outer race is the detail that matters when you order. It has to go into a housing with a matching crowned seat — it will not sit correctly in a cylindrical-bore housing, and it is not a substitute for a plain deep groove ball bearing of similar nominal size. Fit is governed by insert outside diameter and overall width, not by bore, so the housing seat is the dimension to check.
A collar-locked insert grips the shaft without screws driven into the surface, so it leaves plain cold-drawn shafting unmarked and can be repositioned. It is also direction-sensitive: the collar is set with the direction of rotation, and a hard-reversing drive is better served by a setscrew insert.
Sold as 1 pc — one insert with its collar.
Clean the housing seat so the insert can still swivel once fitted. Slide the insert and collar onto the shaft, set the housing position, then tighten the collar and its setscrew onto the collar rather than onto the shaft. Rotate by hand and check for drag before final tightening, then grease through the housing fitting so the path is purged.
Role-equivalent inserts at 1-3/16 inch bore include Link-Belt UG and U series, SealMaster inserts, Dodge INS-series inserts and generic UC and UEL inserts. Measure your housing seat diameter and the insert width before buying across brands — bore alone does not decide fit. Related, not interchangeable: a setscrew-locking insert of the same bore is a different locking arrangement, and in some series a different outside diameter.
