A Dodge INS-SC-103 bearing insert — the rotating cartridge only, for a 1-3/16 inch shaft. It is a single row ball bearing with a wide inner ring extended on both sides and drilled for two setscrews, and a spherical (crowned) outer race that swivels in a mating housing seat to take up installation misalignment.
This listing is the insert alone. There is no housing, no cap and no adapter sleeve. Use it to rebuild an existing Dodge SC-series mounted unit whose housing is still sound — an SC pillow block, an F2B-SC or F4B-SC flange, or an SC take-up cartridge. If you need the complete assembled unit, that is a different order code.
INS = insert, sold as a component. SC = Dodge SC series, setscrew-locking ball insert with a spherical outer race. 103 = 1-3/16 inch bore (1.1875 in). 123338 is the Dodge/Baldor part number for this build.

Setscrew locking is simple and quick but it indents the shaft, so the insert is best treated as a one-position part — refitting it in a new spot means fresh marks. It also holds better in one direction of rotation than the other, so on a hard-reversing drive an adapter-mounted insert such as a Dodge Grip-Tight will hold more reliably.
Because the outer race is spherical, the insert has to go into a housing with a matching spherical seat. It will not sit correctly in a cylindrical-bore housing, and it is not a replacement for a plain deep groove ball bearing of the same nominal size.

Clean the housing seat before fitting so the insert can still swivel. Slide it onto the shaft, position the assembly, align the housing, then torque both setscrews evenly to the Dodge figure. Rotate the shaft by hand and confirm no drag before running, and grease through the housing fitting so the path is purged.
Same-role setscrew ball inserts include SealMaster inserts, Link-Belt UG-series and Browning VS-series inserts in the same nominal bore, and generic UC-series inserts. Fit is governed by the housing seat diameter and insert width, not the bore alone, so measure your housing before buying across brands. A same-bore Dodge Grip-Tight or eccentric-collar insert is a different part — different locking method, and in some sizes a different outside diameter.
