Complete two-bolt flange ball bearing unit — cast iron housing plus bearing insert, ready to bolt on — with a 5/8 in bore and set-screw locking. Standard duty, non-expansion (fixed) design, so it locates the shaft axially and must be paired with an expansion unit at the other end if the shaft grows. Bolts to a vertical surface with the shaft passing through it. Four in stock.

A Dodge F2B-SC-010, part number 124199: a complete two-bolt flange-mounted ball bearing unit with a 5/8 in bore. Complete means housing and bearing together — a cast iron flange housing with a ball bearing insert already fitted, ready to bolt on. There is nothing else to buy.
A flange unit exists to support a shaft that passes through a wall, a plate or a machine frame, with the bolts going into that vertical surface. It is the counterpart to a pillow block, which bolts to a horizontal base alongside the shaft. If your mounting surface is perpendicular to the shaft, you want a flange unit; if it is parallel, you want a pillow block. That single geometric fact is usually what decides the purchase.
F2B — Dodge’s two-bolt flange housing designation. (F4B is the four-bolt square flange; P2B is the two-bolt pillow block.)SC — Dodge’s set-screw ball bearing insert series.010 — bore size in sixteenths of an inch: 10/16 in = 5/8 in. Once you know the convention, the whole Dodge SC range reads off the number — 012 is 3/4 in, 104 is 1-1/4 in, and so on.124199 — Dodge’s stock number, and the one most distributors and plant systems list against.
This is the detail most often overlooked on a cheap mounted bearing, and it causes real failures.
A non-expansion (fixed) unit holds the bearing outer ring axially in the housing. The shaft cannot move lengthwise through it. An expansion unit leaves the outer ring free to slide a controlled amount in the housing bore, so the shaft can grow and shrink.
Every shaft supported at two points needs one fixed end and, if it changes length, one free end. Shafts change length for ordinary reasons: friction heat, a hot process, ambient swing between a winter night and a summer afternoon on outdoor equipment, or simply a long shaft. Bolt non-expansion units at both ends of a shaft that grows and the thermal load has nowhere to go — it passes straight into the bearings as axial thrust they were never rated for. The result is hot bearings, wrecked seals and premature failure, and it looks like a bearing quality problem when it is a specification problem.
So: use this as the located end, and pair it with a Dodge expansion unit at the other end if your shaft is long, hot or outdoors. On a short, cool, indoor shaft two fixed units are usually tolerated, but it is still worth knowing what you have chosen.
Set screws are the simplest and cheapest way to lock an insert to a shaft: screws in the inner ring bear directly on the shaft. For unidirectional light and medium duty they are entirely adequate and they make installation and removal quick. Where they struggle is reversing rotation and shock load, because the inner ring can creep on the shaft and once it starts to creep it polishes its own seat and never stops. For those duties a Dodge eccentric or concentric collar insert is the more secure choice, and the housing is often the same.
“Standard duty” places this in the middle of Dodge’s range. It is the right choice for fans, small conveyors, agricultural equipment, ventilation and light process machinery at a 5/8 in shaft — the sort of position where the shaft is small, the load is modest and cost matters. It is not a heavy-shock or high-load unit; where a 5/8 in shaft carries a serious load, a heavier series or a roller-bearing unit is the answer.
The cast iron housing deserves a word too. Cast iron is rigid, damps vibration well and is dimensionally stable, which is why it remains standard for mounted bearings. It is also brittle: do not over-torque the mounting bolts and do not use the housing to pull a misaligned shaft into line. Cast iron will crack before it bends.

Load ratings, bolt-hole spacing, flange dimensions and unit weight are not published in the sources we could verify for this specific stock number, and we have not filled those cells with figures from an adjacent size. Bolt-hole spacing in particular is the dimension you need to match an existing installation, and it is the one worth asking about — tell us and we will measure the actual unit. The photographs on this listing show the housing and the bolt pattern; use them as the reference in the meantime.
Four complete units in stock, sold individually. Four is a practical number for this kind of part: shafts use them in pairs, so four covers two complete shafts, or one shaft plus spares for a machine that runs several identical stations.

Related Dodge units: F4B-SC-010 (four-bolt square flange, same bore and insert), P2B-SC-010 (two-bolt pillow block, same bore and insert), and the expansion-type equivalent for the free end of the shaft. Same-envelope 5/8 in two-bolt flange units are catalogued by Sealmaster (SFT-10 and FB-10 families), Browning, Link-Belt (now Regal Rexnord), SKF and Timken. Verify bore, bolt-hole spacing, duty rating, locking method and expansion type before treating any of them as a drop-in — the bolt pattern in particular is not standardised across brands. The Dodge brand has passed through Rockwell, Reliance, Baldor and ABB ownership and now trades as Dodge Industrial, so machines specified under any of those names are still supported under Dodge numbers.
