Product Description

What this part is

MRC 7307DS single-row angular contact ball bearing, ground as a duplex half pair to a preload requirement. Bore: 35 mm. Outside Diameter: 80 mm. Overall Width: 21 mm. Contact Angle: 29°. Precision Class: ABEC 7. Preload: Universally ground to a preload requirement. Number Of Rows: 1. Rolling Elements: Balls. Bore Type: Straight. Closure Type: Open both faces. Material: Chrome steel. Unit Quantity: 1 Pc.

Decoding the designation

7300 — MRC’s angular contact medium series. At a 35 mm bore the medium series gives an 80 mm outside diameter and a heavier ball complement than the light series on the same shaft.

07 — the bore code. Multiplied by five it gives Bore: 35 mm.

DS — a duplex half pair, universally ground to a preload requirement. Any two bearings of this designation stack in any of the three duplex orientations — back-to-back, face-to-face or tandem — and the ground face offset produces the designed preload when the set is clamped.

What these specs mean in practice

Precision Class: ABEC 7 is a spindle class. It holds bore and outside diameter to tight tolerance and, more importantly, holds radial and axial runout to a few microns, which is what keeps a tool tip or a grinding wheel where the drawing says it is. Preload: Universally ground to a preload requirement means the set is built at the grinder rather than at the bench — no shim stack, no measured end play, no reliance on the fitter to reproduce a torque. Contact Angle: 29° sits in the middle of the angular contact range, giving more thrust capacity than a 15° execution and more speed headroom than a 40° one. Bore: 35 mm. Outside Diameter: 80 mm. Overall Width: 21 mm.

Quantity and configuration

Unit Quantity: 1 Pc. One universally ground duplex half pair. Two of them assemble into a preloaded set in whichever orientation the application calls for, and further half pairs stack into triplex and quadruplex arrangements.

Fitting notes

The ring faces are marked, and the marks are lined up according to the orientation chosen so the ground offset closes as the set is clamped. Both inner rings are clamped against each other and both outer rings against the housing. Mounting force is applied through the ring being fitted and is never transmitted across the balls. An ABEC 7 bearing expects ground and measured shaft and housing seats, clean handling and a controlled clamp torque.

Interchange guidance

The interchange is another MRC 7307DS at the same class. 35 x 80 x 21 mm is the 7307 envelope, so an angular contact bearing of that size will enter the same seat, but a substitution has to agree on the 29° contact angle, the ABEC 7 class and the universal preload grind together. An ISO 7307 at 15°, 25° or 40° is a related size on the same envelope.
