Belts stretch and chains wear, and a take-up unit is how the slack comes back out without relocating the drive. Listings include wide slot frames with setscrew-lock ball inserts, top angle frames carrying double-row spherical roller inserts, and Dodge WSTU-series blocks in inch bores from 1-11/16 in up to 3-3/8 in. Choose frame style first, because a wide slot housing and a top angle housing bolt into completely different structures, then confirm shaft size and whether the position is expansion or non-expansion. Frames wear at the slot; if yours is still sound, an insert bearing is the cheaper repair.
