A Torrington 22218MBW33 double-row spherical roller bearing, 90 mm cylindrical bore by 160 mm outside diameter by 40 mm width. Two rows of barrel-shaped rollers run on a shared spherical outer raceway, giving self-alignment together with very high radial capacity and thrust capacity in both directions. It is a heavy-duty industrial bearing for conveyor pulleys, fans, crushers, gearboxes, vibrating equipment and paper and steel mill machinery.

Self-alignment is the reason this bearing type is chosen. The spherical outer raceway allows the inner ring and roller set to swivel within the outer ring, so a shaft sitting slightly out of line with its housing does not concentrate load on the roller ends. Long conveyor shafts and fabricated screen bodies rarely hold better alignment than that.
Two opposed roller rows carry axial load in both directions as well as radial load, so an arrangement built on these bearings often needs no separate thrust bearing.
A machined brass cage is the specification that separates this bearing from the pressed-steel and polyamide variants. Brass is dimensionally stable at high temperature, resists the aggressive additives found in some circulating oils, and takes shock and vibration better than a polymer cage. That combination is why brass-caged spherical rollers are standard on vibrating screens and hot mill applications, and it is a real specification difference rather than a preference.
The W33 groove and holes feed grease straight into the middle of the roller set from the housing, rather than forcing it in past a seal from one end. On a large slow bearing with a relubrication interval, that keeps both roller rows evenly supplied.

One bearing ships. The bore is cylindrical, so the bearing seats directly on a plain shaft and no adapter sleeve applies. Housings, seals and locking hardware are supplied separately.
A bearing of this size normally takes an interference fit on the shaft and mounts by induction heating to roughly 80 to 100 °C above ambient, pushed on square and held until the ring grips. The housing lubrication port aligns with the outer-ring groove so grease reaches the roller centre. Residual radial clearance after mounting is verified with a feeler gauge across the unloaded top roller.
Same-specification equivalents are cylindrical-bore 22218 spherical rollers with a machined brass cage and W33 lubrication features: Timken 22218EMW33 as the successor number, SKF 22218 CA/W33 in its brass-cage form, FAG 22218AS.MB, NSK 22218CAME4, Link-Belt 22218MBW33. Pressed-steel and polyamide cage variants such as 22218 CC/W33 or 22218AS.TVPB carry different speed and temperature limits. The tapered-bore 22218KMBW33 is a different part — it requires an adapter sleeve.
