The sleeve seats on a 60 mm plain shaft — one bore-code step below the bearing bore — and is supplied with a KM13 locknut and an MB13 lockwasher. A withdrawal sleeve arrangement or a stepped shaft with a tapered seat are the alternatives to the adapter sleeve.

A double-row spherical roller carries very high radial load and takes axial load in both directions. The 1:12 taper is what makes clearance adjustable at assembly: driving the inner ring further up the taper expands it and reduces running clearance, so the fitter sets the final clearance rather than accepting a fixed value. Fitting notes
