This is an SKF 22210 CK/W33 double-row spherical roller bearing with a 50 mm tapered bore, 90 mm outside diameter and 23 mm width. Two rows of barrel-shaped rollers run on a common spherical raceway in the outer ring, so the shaft can swivel relative to the housing and absorb misalignment while carrying load.

Decoding the designation

The 222 prefix is the double-row spherical roller family and the 10 bore code gives 50 mm. The C and J elements specify a pressed steel window cage. K specifies a 1:12 tapered bore rather than a straight one. W33 means the outer ring carries a circumferential lubrication groove and three radial lubrication holes into it. There is no clearance suffix, so radial internal clearance is normal, CN.

Bore taper and mounting hardware

Adapter sleeve H310 fits this bearing and is a separate part, not included. The sleeve seats on a 45 mm plain shaft — one bore-code step below the bearing bore — and is supplied with a KM10 locknut and an MB10 lockwasher.

What these specs mean in practice

The double row carries very high radial load and takes axial load in both directions, while tolerating shaft-to-housing misalignment that would fail a cylindrical roller bearing. The 1:12 taper makes running clearance adjustable at assembly: driving the inner ring further up the taper expands it and reduces clearance, so the fitter sets the final figure rather than accepting a fixed one. Fitting notes

The bearing goes up the sleeve taper until the specified radial internal clearance reduction is reached, checked with a feeler gauge across the unloaded roller row or by measured drive-up distance.
