What these specs mean in practice

32 points on one module keeps the cabinet compact but concentrates the risk: a single module failure can take a whole bank of limit switches, proximity sensors and pushbuttons out at once, and the symptom is a group of adjacent PLC input addresses going dead together rather than one signal misbehaving. That grouping is the quickest way to tell a DMP module fault from a field wiring fault. Because DMP modules are addressed on the bus, a replacement has to be set to the same address as the one it replaces.
