Deep Groove Ball Bearing, 60x95x18 mm, Shielded Both Sides, C3 Increased Clearance, 32.5 kN Dynamic

A single-row deep groove ball bearing, 60 mm bore x 95 mm outside diameter x 18 mm width, with a pressed steel shield on each side and C3 internal clearance. Two details in the designation decide whether it suits your machine. First, ZZ on an NSK bearing means shields on both sides, not rubber seals – NSK’s own convention uses Z/ZZ for shielded and D/DU/DW/V (DD/DDU/DDW/VV) for sealed. A shield is a non-contacting steel disc that keeps coarse debris out while adding almost no friction, so it preserves speed and runs cooler than a contact seal, but it will not hold back fine dust or washdown water the way a sealed bearing does; NSK ranks sealing performance sealed, then shielded, then open. Second, C3 is greater-than-normal radial internal clearance, specified when the inner ring runs hot relative to the housing, or where an interference fit on the shaft would otherwise squeeze normal clearance out of the bearing. Fit C3 where normal clearance was designed in and you get more running slop than intended; fit normal clearance where C3 was specified and it can preload itself and overheat. Per NSK, it is rated 32.5 kN dynamic and 23.2 kN static, runs to 8,000 rpm on grease, carries 14 balls of 10.319 mm diameter in a pressed steel cage, is held to ISO Normal tolerance class, and weighs about 0.412 kg. The base design has no snap ring groove – NSK’s N and NR variants add one. One bearing is supplied in the original NSK carton. Typical duty is electric motors, pumps, fans and blowers, gearboxes and general line shafting carrying mainly radial load with some incidental thrust in either direction.
