The Triconex 4211 is a Remote Extender Module (RXM) for the Tricon safety system — the single-mode fibre optic remote variant, SRXM. This unit is drawing revision A9. US-made new old stock.
I/O Bus Rate: 375 kbit/s. Media: single-mode fibre optic. Connector Style: ST. Maximum Remote Distance: 7.5 miles (12 km). Front-Panel Diagnostics: PASS, FAIL, ACTIVE, TX, RX1, RX2 and RX3.
Used with a matching primary RXM, it repeats and extends the Tricon I/O bus over single-mode fibre so a remote I/O chassis can sit up to 7.5 miles (12 km) from the primary site, which is what makes it possible to instrument a tank farm, jetty, pipeline station or remote compressor house from one safety controller. Because the link is optical it also provides ground-loop isolation between sites, removing the earth-potential problems that affect long copper runs.
Unit Quantity: 1 Pc. Tricon is triple-modular-redundant, so RXMs run one per leg and are catalogued in threes as 4211-3.
Triconex is part of Schneider Electric. This is the single-mode fibre execution; a separate multi-mode RXM variant exists in the same family.
