What this part is

An AVENTICS Series AS1-SOV solenoid-operated 3/2 directional valve, the electrically actuated soft-start and dump valve module that sits at the head of a modular G1/4 air preparation unit. Energised, it passes supply air to the downstream chain; de-energised it closes the supply and exhausts trapped downstream pressure to atmosphere. It is a poppet valve with an internal pilot, so it takes no external pilot line, and it is block-assemblable within the AS1 modular chain. The SOV designation and the 3/2 in the order code make it a directional shut-off and dump valve rather than a flow control valve: it switches air fully on or fully off and does not meter flow.

Decoding the order code

AS1: AVENTICS Series AS1 modular air preparation. SOV: shut-off valve, electrically operated (3/2 directional). G014: G 1/4 parallel (BSPP) compressed-air connection rather than NPT. 3/2: three ports, two positions, being supply, outlet and exhaust. 024: 24 V DC coil. FORM C: ISO 15217 form C electrical interface, the small 8 mm industrial valve plug pattern.

What these specs mean in practice

The coil is 24 V DC and cannot be rewired for mains. The electrical interface is ISO 15217 form C, which takes a form C (8 mm) valve plug. A cordset or plug is not included. The AS1 solenoid is also produced in an M12x1 version, which this build is not.

Minimum working pressure is 2 bar. Below that the internal pilot has nothing to work with and the valve does not shift reliably, so an internally piloted poppet does not suit a low-pressure or vacuum circuit.

Nominal flow of 2000 l/min at G1/4 is generous for the port size and is what makes the SOV suitable as a machine dump valve, where a whole manifold is exhausted quickly rather than one cylinder fed.

Quantity and configuration

One valve module. Removed unused from an R480342567 air preparation unit, a new take-out rather than a boxed retail item. Form C valve plug and any connection plates or clamps are not part of this listing.

Mounting data

AS1 modules are built in both flow hands, left and right air supply. Supply air filtration to 25 µm suits the soft-seal poppet. Published oil carry-over for the series is 0–5 mg/m³.

Interchange guidance

R412010680 and R412010681 are the same 2000 l/min AS1-SOV function in left- and right-supply builds, related versions with their own hand and voltage. R412014744 is another AS1-SOV variant. The manually operated AS1-BAV shut-off valve occupies the same envelope without a coil.
