What this part is

An AVENTICS Series AS1-FRE filter pressure regulator — a filter and a regulator built into a single modular body, so one unit removes water and particulate and then holds a stable downstream set pressure. It is the middle element of a modular G1/4 air preparation chain (the AS1 answer to a conventional FRL) and clamps to the neighbouring AS1 modules rather than screwing into pipe on both ends.

What these specs mean in practice

There is no gauge on this build. Set pressure has to be read at a gauge you fit yourself, either in the downstream line or in the AS1 gauge port. That is the detail most often missed when buying a GAN-coded unit and expecting a dial on the front.

A 5 µm element is general-purpose protection for valves, cylinders and air tools. It is not instrument-grade air — if you need 0.3 µm or 0.01 µm the series has separate microfilter and active-carbon modules and this unit does not replace them.

The automatic drain dumps collected condensate on its own and sits open when the unit is unpressurised, so a machine that is shut down overnight self-empties instead of filling the bowl. A polycarbonate bowl keeps the level visible; it must be kept away from solvents and from compressor oils that attack polycarbonate.

One filter regulator module, removed unused from an R480342567 air preparation unit. No pressure gauge, no mounting bracket and no connection plates are included.

Fitting notes

Check flow direction against your assembly — the R→L build of this same unit is R412014731, so the two are not interchangeable in a fixed chain. Leave clearance under the bowl for drain access and element changes. Regulators are set with rising pressure: back the knob off, then bring it up to the target rather than dialling down onto it.
