A FAG 22215-AS-J-W33 double-row spherical roller bearing, 75 mm bore, 130 mm outside diameter, 31 mm wide. Two rows of barrel rollers run on a single spherical outer raceway, so the inner ring, rollers and cage swivel as an assembly inside the outer ring. The bearing carries heavy radial load, takes thrust in both axial directions, and accommodates shaft-to-housing misalignment without edge-loading the rollers.
222 is the ISO dimension series of the double-row spherical roller family and 15 is the bore code, giving 75 mm at five millimetres per unit. W33 is the annular lubrication groove machined around the outer ring with three radial feed holes into the roller path; AS is the older FAG marking for that same feature, which is why both codes appear together on this designation. J is the pressed steel cage. The absence of a K means a straight cylindrical bore.
The W33 groove is what makes this variant suitable for relubrication in service and for circulating oil: grease or oil enters the groove through the housing and is delivered to the centre of the roller path rather than having to migrate in from the ring faces. That matters most on slow, heavily loaded and continuously running shafts, where lubricant replenishment is the life-limiting factor. The pressed steel cage is light and inexpensive and suits moderate speeds; a machined brass cage is the design path where speed, temperature or shock load rise.
1 Pc. Bearing only, open on both faces, no seals and no shields. No adapter sleeve, locknut or lockwasher, none of which a straight-bore spherical roller uses.
The straight bore goes directly onto a cylindrical shaft seat with an interference fit, heated or pressed against the inner ring face so mounting force does not pass through the rollers. The housing needs a lubricant feed aligned to the W33 groove for the feature to do any work; where the housing has no feed port, the groove is simply inert and the bearing runs on its sump lubricant.
The ISO base number is 22215, so another maker’s 22215 W33 or 22215 EJW33 straight-bore double-row spherical roller of the same 31 mm width is a genuine interchange. The 22215-E1-K-TVPB-W33 is a related size, not a substitution: its 1:12 taper bore requires an H315 adapter sleeve whose shaft seat is 65 mm. A plain 22215 without W33 has no lubrication groove or feed holes, and the 21315 shares the 75 mm bore in a narrower section — both different parts.
