An NSK 22215 CD E4 S11 double-row spherical roller bearing measuring 75 mm bore x 130 mm outside diameter x 31 mm wide. Straight (cylindrical) bore, open, pressed steel cage running on a floating guide ring, an oil groove and lubrication holes through the outer ring, and rings thermally stabilised for operating temperatures up to 200 °C. Spherical roller bearings carry very high radial load plus axial load in both directions, and the spherical outer raceway lets the inner-ring assembly swivel so the bearing self-aligns to shaft deflection or housing misalignment. Sold as 1 Pc.
222 — double-row spherical roller bearing, ISO dimension series 22.
15 — bore code; 15 x 5 = 75 mm bore.
CD — NSK internal design: floating guide ring with a pressed steel cage. NSK’s own interchange tables map CD directly onto the SKF C, CC and EC designs, so an SKF 22215 CC is a like-for-like design match rather than just a size match.
E4 — NSK’s code for an oil groove and lubrication holes in the outer ring. It is the direct equivalent of the industry W33 code, which is why the title carries both.
S11 — thermally stabilised for operating temperatures up to 200 °C. NSK uses this suffix only on spherical roller bearings; it is the equivalent of the S1 code used elsewhere in the industry.
No K in the designation — straight cylindrical bore. No adapter sleeve is involved.
No clearance suffix — normal (CN) radial internal clearance.
S11 is the reason to pick this bearing, and it is worth understanding what it buys. Untreated bearing steel slowly grows when it is held hot, and on a bearing that growth eats the operating clearance from the inside until the rollers are effectively preloaded. Stabilising the rings pushes that limit out to 200 °C, which is why S11 turns up on fans, dryers, kiln drives, hot conveyors and anything downstream of a furnace. It does not raise the load rating and it does not change the grease requirement — at those temperatures the lubricant is usually the real limit, so specify a high-temperature grease or circulating oil to match.
The floating guide ring is what makes CD a high-capacity layout. With no fixed central rib on the inner ring, the two roller rows are separated by a ring that floats between them, so the full axial width goes into roller length instead of into a rib. The pressed steel cage keeps the assembly light and low-friction; step up to the brass-caged CA family when the position sees heavy shock or vibration.
One detail NSK publishes that most sellers skip: the depth of the oil groove in E4 bearings is limited, so NSK recommends machining an oil groove in the housing bore as well. Without it you are relying on a shallow groove to distribute lubricant around the full circumference, and the far side of the bearing sees less. In a hot position with a stabilised bearing, that distribution matters more, not less.
Normal clearance is the right default for a bearing at roughly uniform temperature with a standard shaft fit. If the inner ring will run appreciably hotter than the outer — common in exactly the hot applications S11 is made for — check whether the design actually calls for C3, because a hot inner ring expands into whatever clearance the bearing has left.

One bearing per sale — 1 Pc. Complete non-separable bearing: inner ring, two rows of spherical rollers, pressed steel cage, floating guide ring and outer ring with the oil groove and lubrication holes. No housing, no locknut and no sleeve are included, and none are needed for a cylindrical shaft seat.
Straight-bore spherical roller bearings mount with an interference fit on the shaft. Heat the bearing or use a hydraulic fit-up tool; drive against the inner ring only, never through the outer ring, because the outer ring can swivel and will cock the rollers. Align the housing grease port with the outer ring groove before final assembly, and cut a matching groove in the housing bore if you can. Keep the axial component well below the radial load: with Fa/Fr above e = 0.22 the unloaded roller row can lose contact and skid. Grease fill is typically 30–50% of free space; overpacking a spherical roller bearing is a common cause of an early temperature rise, which on a hot-service bearing is exactly what you are trying to avoid.
The 75 x 130 x 31 mm 222-series envelope is industry-standard. Because NSK maps CD onto the SKF C / CC / EC designs, the closest interchanges are genuine design matches: SKF 22215 CC/W33 and 22215 CJ/W33 describe the same flangeless-inner-ring, guide-ring, stamped-steel-cage 22215 with the lubrication groove and holes. Others in the same design family: FAG 22215-E1 or 22215 ES.TVPB.W33, NTN and NTN-SNR 22215 EAW33, Timken 22215 EJW33, Koyo 22215RHW33, RHP 22215 EJW33, SNR 22215 K.B33. To keep the 200 °C stabilisation when you cross-reference, look for the equivalent high-temperature code — S1 in SKF nomenclature, or the FAG and NTN designs whose steel is stabilised to 200 °C as standard. A version with a K suffix has a 1:12 tapered bore and needs an H315 adapter sleeve (65 mm shaft) on a cylindrical shaft; a brass-caged version is NSK 22215 CAME4.
