A single-row barrel roller bearing with a tapered bore, 60 mm bore × 130 mm outside diameter × 31 mm width. One row of barrel-shaped rollers runs on a spherical outer raceway, which lets the inner ring and roller set swivel relative to the outer ring. The bearing therefore accommodates static misalignment and running shaft deflection. Load direction is radial.

The barrel roller profile concentrates a single row of long rollers on a spherical outer raceway, so the design buys self-alignment and a high radial rating in a narrow section, and carries load in the radial direction. A machined brass cage tolerates higher temperature and shock loading than a pressed-steel cage and raises the permissible speed compared with a full-complement design. C3 clearance leaves running room for a press-fit inner ring, a temperature difference across the bearing, or both, which is the usual choice where the shaft runs hotter than the housing.

The 1:12 tapered bore seats either directly on a matching tapered shaft journal or on an adapter sleeve fitted to a plain cylindrical shaft. Drive-up on the taper sets the residual internal clearance, so the C3 figure above is the as-supplied value measured before mounting.
The ISO base number is 20312. A 20312 K with a different cage code or a different clearance class is a related size rather than an interchange, since cage material changes the speed and temperature rating and the clearance class changes the mounted preload. A cylindrical-bore 20312 shares the same envelope and is a related size, its bore being a different fit.
