Deep groove ball bearing with pressed steel shields on both sides, 80 mm bore x 125 mm OD x 22 mm wide, normal clearance, factory greased. Non-contact shields mean low friction and full speed, but they keep out dry dust rather than water. Sold as 1 piece.

A single-row deep groove ball bearing, 80 mm bore by 125 mm outside diameter by 22 mm wide, with pressed steel shields on both sides and factory grease inside. Deep groove ball bearings take radial load plus axial load in either direction, and this shielded form is the standard fit-and-forget bearing for electric motors, gearbox end supports, fans, blowers and pump drives.
6: single-row deep groove ball bearing.
0: dimension series 60, the light section for this bore.
16: bore code, 16 x 5 = 80 mm bore.
2Z: pressed steel shields on both sides in the SKF scheme. A single Z is one shield only, 2RS1 contact rubber seals, 2RZ low-friction non-contact seals.
No clearance suffix: normal (CN) radial internal clearance.
6016ZZ is the same closure written in the NSK/Japanese style, and the two designations describe the same bearing.
Shields are the spec to get right, because they are not seals. A shield is a stamped steel disc with a small running gap at the inner ring, so it adds almost no friction and does not limit speed, and it holds back dry dust and coarse debris rather than washdown water, coolant mist or fine wet grit. A 2RS1 with rubber contact seals covers that duty, at the price of more running torque and a lower speed ceiling. An open 6016 arrives dry and unshielded and expects the housing to seal and lubricate it.
Clearance is normal (CN). That suits a shaft and housing running at similar temperatures with a standard interference fit. A 6016-2Z/C3 is the greater-clearance variant for a hot shaft.
Bore: 80 mm.
Outside diameter: 125 mm.
Width: 22 mm.
Rows: 1.
Closure: pressed steel shields, both sides (2Z), non-contact.
Internal clearance: normal (CN).
Lubrication: factory greased.
Material: through-hardened bearing steel.
EAN: 7316576621451.
Sold as 1 piece, one shielded bearing. No snap ring, no housing.
Genuine interchanges are same-envelope shielded-both-sides bearings: FAG 6016-2Z, NSK 6016ZZ, NTN 6016ZZ, Koyo 6016ZZ and Nachi 6016ZZ. A 6016-2RS1 (rubber contact seals), a 6016-Z (one shield only) and a 6016-2Z/C3 (greater clearance) are related parts that change sealing, lubrication or fit-up.
