SKF 2210 ETN9/C3 double-row self-aligning ball bearing. Bore 50 mm, outside diameter 90 mm, width 23 mm. Straight bore, two rows of balls running in a common sphered raceway in the outer ring, open on both faces, greater than normal C3 radial internal clearance, with a moulded glass-fibre reinforced polyamide cage.
2210 places the bearing in the 2200 dimension series at a 50 mm bore. E marks SKF’s reinforced execution, which carries a larger ball complement than the original design. TN9 is the injection-moulded glass-fibre reinforced polyamide 6,6 cage. C3 is the radial internal clearance class, looser than normal. The absence of a K means the bore is parallel rather than tapered 1:12.
The sphered outer raceway lets the inner ring, ball sets and cage swivel inside the outer ring, so the bearing tolerates angular misalignment of the shaft relative to the housing without inducing edge loading on the raceways. Permissible misalignment is 2.5°. That self-aligning geometry gives very low friction and strong light-load and high-speed behaviour, and it is why the static rating sits well below the dynamic rating – the contact geometry favours speed and alignment tolerance over static load capacity. C3 clearance keeps a working clearance in service where an interference fit on the shaft and a warm inner ring would take a normal-clearance bearing tight.

One bearing. Open on both faces, with no seals, shields or snap ring, and supplied dry – lubrication comes from the housing.
Standard practice is an interference fit on the shaft and a location fit in the housing, with mounting force applied squarely to the ring being fitted. The parallel bore mounts directly on the shaft seat, with no adapter sleeve. An open bearing draws oil or grease from the housing, so a lubrication feed and a means of retaining the lubricant form part of the surrounding design.
The 50 x 90 x 23 mm envelope with a parallel bore and C3 clearance is shared across the trade, so a FAG 2210-TVH-C3, NSK 2210ETNC3 or NKE 2210-TV-C3 is a direct substitution. Bore form and clearance both change the part within that envelope: a 2210 EKTN9/C3 has a tapered 1:12 bore that mounts on an adapter sleeve, and a plain 2210 ETN9 is normal CN clearance, so both are related sizes.
