Two rows of cylindrical rollers give high radial load capacity and high radial stiffness in a narrow section. The ribbed inner ring locates the rollers; the plain outer ring allows axial float of the shaft relative to the housing. The 1:12 tapered bore mounts directly on a tapered spindle journal, and drive-up on the taper sets the radial internal clearance or preload.
